In a recent statement, Remedy highlighted the outstanding commercial performance of Alan Wake 2, which has become the studio’s fastest-selling game, selling 1.3 million copies by February 2024, and announced future plans to capitalize on its success.

Following the massive success of Alan Wake 2, developer Remedy Entertainment is redoubling its development efforts, focusing on advancing projects such as Control 2 and the remake of Max Payne 1 and 2.

While the sequel has yet to recoup its development costs, its rapid sales pace has exceeded expectations, more than doubling the sales achieved by the critically acclaimed Control in a similar time frame.

The success of Alan Wake 2 has allowed Remedy to bolster development resources for other projects, including Control 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the supernatural shooter, released in 2019.

The studio has also accelerated work on a remake of Max Payne 1 and 2, signaling a return to the gritty, film noir-inspired stories that made Remedy stand out.

The date of Xbox’s new game launch event has been announced!

It is clear when the event where Xbox will introduce new games and hardware will take place this year.

CEO Tero Virtala expressed optimism about the progress of these projects, noting that the staff vacancy from Alan Wake 2 has contributed to an accelerated development trajectory. We could see significant updates and announcements in the first half of 2024.

Remedy also emphasized its commitment to the interconnected universe that its games share, officially identified as the Remedy Connected Universe. Control serves as the cornerstone of this universe. The studio’s other games, including Alan Wake, will also be connected to this universe.

While Control 2 didn’t generate as much excitement, many gamers are excited for the Max Payne remake. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
